投稿標題(英): Healthcare-associated infections of Serratia marcescens bacteremia at a medical center in southern Taiwan: analysis of risk factors for 14-day mortality and antimicrobial resistance

投稿摘要: Serratia marcescens has emerged as a common nosocomial pathogen, but scarcely therapeutic recommendations for patients with healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) of S. marcescens bloodstream infection (BSI). We retrospectively investigated adult patients with HAIs of S. marcescens BSI at a medical center in Southern Taiwan from Jan. 2011 to Aug. 2018, and a total of 116 clinical episodes were reviewed. In multivariate analysis, the independent risk of 14-day included admitted for sepsis, Pittsburgh bacteremia score ≥ 4 , portal of entry is in the lower respiratory tract, and the only protective factor was appropriate antimicrobial therapy. Comparison of in vitro susceptibility of S. marcescens from different patient locations, the isolates from intensive care units had higher non-susceptibility rate for gentamicin, ceftazidime, piperacillin/tazobactam, and TMP/SMX, and were obviously lower to cefepime, levofloxacin or tigecycline (p＜ 0.05, respectively).
