投稿標題(英): Improving the Performance of Environmental Infection Control Investigation in Health-Care Facilities by MALDI-TOF

投稿摘要: The prevention and control of HAIs is essential to enhance patient safety and reduce health-care facilities costs. We would share our experience about improvement of environmental survey by MALDI-TOF.
We used SAS® system to evaluate and monitor the ratio of infection. The investigation was triggered following the occurrence of out-of-threshold monitoring values. All suspected pathogens were analyzed on the Bruker MALDI Biotyper® system.
The data revealed that ORSA and S. marcescens were isolated from the respiratory therapist and clinician. Additionally, the same GPB were presented on two professional nurses. Bacillus cereus was identified by MALDI-TOF. Interestingly, B. cereus was recently recognized in the patient with CVP-related infection. Finally, the terminal disinfection was conducted to avoid potential outbreaks.
In summary, rapid identification of pathogens by MALDI-TOF could significantly improve the performance of environmental investigation to avoid potential outbreaks.
