投稿摘要: Introduction:The impact of antibiotics use on the development of toxigenic C. difficile colonization(tCdC)and Clostridium difficile associated diarrhea (CDAD).
Method:A prospective study was conducted in the medical wards of a district hospital at southern Taiwan from January 2011 to June 2012.
Results:Total 441 patients enrolled,26(7.3 %)patients developed tCdC and 12(3.4 %)ntCdC during the study period.Overall 13(2.9%)experienced CDAD.More patients with tCdC subsequently developed CDAD than those without CdC(10.1vs.1.5%;P=0.01).Cefepime therapy was associated with tCDC(48.0vs.17.4%,P=0.001).Piperacillin/tazobactam and Carpenem use were associated with CDAD in tCdC.
Conclusion:cefepime therapy was associated with tCdC,Piperacillin/tazobactam and Carpenem use were associated with CDAD.Strict antibiotics use can prevent tCDC.
