投稿標題(英): Fall pond caused by multi-drug resistant Salmonella choleraesuis infection

投稿摘要: Salmonella strains are important causes of reportable food-borne infection. Among more than 2,000 serotypes, Salmonella enterica serotype Choleraesuis shows the highest predilection to cause systemic infections in humans .One days , a two-year-old patient came to our hospital emergency room , the patient complained of persistent diarrhea, accompanied by fever. Pediatricians via laboratory diagnosis, initially ruled out amoeba infection and suspected Salmonella infection. Therefore asked patient's parents, whether eaten fresh eggs, or contacted with the other unclean food or water. Patient's parents said: two days ago , patients fell pond , drunk some water, then been to have symptoms of diarrhea . So , medical technology staff collected pond water , then incubated to identify. Finally, patient's stool and water were culture positive for multi-drug resistant Salmonella choleraesuis (cephalosporins four generation drug and fluoroquinolone were available) , then using PFGE confirmed the bacteria were from one strain. So , in this case , we suggests that the physician medication to be considered in patients with history of exposure.
