投稿標題(英): Risk factors for the occurrence of carbapenem-resistant organism

投稿摘要: Purpose: To investigate the risk factors for the occurrence of carbapenem-resistant organisms.
Material and methods: Cases were selected from patients with carbapenem-resistant A. baumannii (CRAB) and P. aeruginosa (CRPA) in 2010. Controls were patients with E. coli or K. pneumoniae in the same period.
Results: 325 CRAB and 77 CRPA cases were matched with 650 E. coli and 154 K. pneumoniae controls, respectively. Multivariate analysis showed that imipenem use was the most significant risk factor for the CRAB occurrence (odds ratio, 36.109) and CRPA occurrence (O.R., 112.841). The O.R. of ertapenem use was 5.062 and 49.293 for CRAB and CRPA occurrence, respectively.
Conclusion: Imipenem and ertapenem use are the most significant risk factors for the occurrence of CRAB and CRPA.
