投稿摘要: Applying Infection Control Intervention to Reduce Upper Respiratory Infection Outbreaks in Chronic psychiatric wards
Purpose:
July to September 2010 in our hospital rehabilitation ward 4 events occurring outbreak of upper respiratory tract infections, in September 2010 began to develop " health care -associated infection outbreak of the monitoring and treatment," and included in Infection Control Workbook in order to enhance quality of care and reduce infections and Patient Safety .
Materials and Methods:
The discussion and analysis of the main factors for the infection outbreak were staff alertness shortage and not immediately informed , unable to do prompt isolation , environmental disinfection and other infection control measures. In December 2010, the hospital performed applying interventional infection sense of control measures with colour pipe grade red, yellow, green ( red : Refers cluster units , yellow : means that the cluster has an incubation period of no new cases , the green light : refers to sporadic cases ) , and to patients , visitors, work personnel , facilities, etc. according to different ambient light tube series to executive flu interventions .
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:
There were 12 events used red reminder in chronic ward in 2011,4 events in 2012, and just 1 event in August 2013. The factors leads the gradually reduce of infection could be :1) Head nurse on duty to monitor infectious events every shift, trying to block the early detection of infection with abnormal events; 2) Staffs have enhanced the cognitive disposition when face the immediate isolation of patients infected, indirectly reduce the risk of infection; 3) Implementing partition care and environmental cleaning and disinfection. It were two years and eight months, since the execution day event start, the hospital infection control measures effectively block the intervention occurred.we are glad to sharing the research effectiveness with other psychiatric hospital.
