投稿標題(英): Investigation of cluster of CRAB(Carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter Baumannii) Infection in Cardiac ICU of one

投稿摘要: An outbreak of carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii infection occurred in the cardiac intensive care unit in the period from January in 2012;8 patients were infected or colonized in this outbreak. Using Fisher’s exact test to compare the number of cases with that of pre-pandemic period obtains a p-value of 0.038 (p ＜ 0.05), which indicates it is statistically significant. Environmental collecting 60 samples. including:bed rails,operation panel of ventilator, and the inner sidewall of suction .This analysis indicates that environmental contamination is the primary source of cross-infection. Further investigation reveals that cleaners were unfamiliar with the general disinfection procedure and medical staff also failed to follow proper practices of isolation and hand washing. In addition to a cohort of infected patients, several new preventive measures are introduced,including:promotion of cleaning tool management, establishing cleaning procedure and guideline for disinfection.
