投稿標題(英): Impacts of Timely Antimicrobial Stewardship Intervention on Adult Patients with Bacteremia.

投稿摘要: Since July 2014, microbiology laboratory reported Gram stain results of positive blood culture immediately to ID specialists via text messages. Then, ID doctors evaluated the antibiotic prescriptions and made documented suggestions. Between March and August 2015, 222 episodes of bacteremia were analyzed. Among these episodes, 127prescriptions need modifications by ID doctors’suggestions, but 74 declined the suggestions. Among these 74 prescriptions which were not compliant to the suggestions, 26 were identified as contaminant bacteremia. Among 53 prescriptions which were compliant to ID’s suggestions, 33deescalated. In conclusion, clinicians need more backups in antibiotics de-escalation, and their judgement about contaminant bacteremia should be re-educated.
